I really appreciate it...

I see and understand your point about the verses in Leviticus; I have to do a little more studying as well because I recently heard someone bring-out a major point on those particular verses that I never heard or understood before when you define the Greek definitions for every word in those scriptures.Son of a Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13531719221289846881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-835418469077874220.post-77531511923179436532011-10-18T05:26:39.647-04:002011-10-18T05:26:39.647-04:00i like your blog. it is great. I 100% agree with you on #3 ...Hey Son of a Bishop,

I 100% agree with you on #3 and #4
and 200% agree with you on number point #5 and I'd like to add that it was probably the most intimately detailed story in the bible period, between any gender.

on point #2

There may be some background behind their acts.

Sodom and Gomorrah was on the eve of war/rebellion, and may have believed the angels to be spies/ or at least suspicious people. Instead of questioning them and investigating, they gather up a mob and intend to pull them out the house and humiliate the men.
Kinda like what some US soldiers did to the afghan rebels they had in custody a couple years ago.

This was a grave breaking of the law of hospitality and just general wickedness.

On point #1:

I actually believe that verse was not necessarily about bisexuality, but a specific reference to "anal penetration" and not necessarily sex between men in it's other forms.

The verse says though shall not have sex with mankind "as with" womankind. There is only one way a man can have sex with a man as with a woman.
It's obvious why that can be seen as a taboo at the time when people took weekly/monthly showers, no condoms or prophylactics existed, and above all the idea of male power was a paramount, in addition to other reasons.
I wish I can dig up some of the references for my points.
If I stumble on them I will pass them forward.

That's just my take on it.

Thanks again for all your great work.Grinderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16018917832193396572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-835418469077874220.post-30551611743664272142011-10-08T13:39:40.884-04:002011-10-08T13:39:40.884-04:00C. & Frotbro; I sincerely thank you both for y...C. & Frotbro; I sincerely thank you both for your kind words and understanding my passion in trying to help undo what traditional religion has done to same gender loving/homosexual people.

Frotbro you said it clearly: "After much study, I've come to the conclusion that the bible is not really against homosexuality. Only particular "shades" of it."

This is my whole point and reason behind this blog site;
the scriptures used to condemn homosexuality by traditional religious folk were scriptures in the King James Version that have now been tainted by modern day versions of the bible that seemed to have:

1.Condemned bi-sexuality of sorts in The Law of Moses for the Israelites in Leviticus. Leviticus 20:13 KJV If a man ALSO lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; ALSO means in addition to; so that verse & Chapter 18:22 seems to address bisexuality instead of the verse explicitly reading man shall not lie with mankind.

2. Gang rape was condemmned in Genesis 19th chapter in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

3.Romans 1st chapter KJV was an incident and an idictment against a group of heterosexuals who abandoned God and their sexuality to worship idol gods; God also abandoned them. Verses 26&27 are predicated on verses 21-23; understanding the entire chapter in it's proper contexts is the key. Isolating one particular verse out of context is unjust and not acceptable.

4. 1st Corinthians 6:9 KJV does not address homosexuality; it speaks to male prostitution which is the Greek translation for the word effeminate which has been identified by traditional religious folk and modern bibles as homosexuals which is completly false.

5. People choose to ignore and deny the most clearly ever expressed affirmation of intimate love between 2 people of the same gender throughout the bible in 1st & 2nd Samuel between David & Jonathan.Son of a Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13531719221289846881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-835418469077874220.post-67036455629349377392011-10-08T11:46:25.889-04:002011-10-08T11:46:25.889-04:00Thanks Son of a Bishop.

After much study, I've come to the conclusion that the bible is not really against homosexuality. Only particular "shades" of it.

I can definitely relate to what Elmundo6 said also.

Love your blog and will continue to be a reader.frotbronoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-835418469077874220.post-53387834666569671232011-10-08T10:35:16.692-04:002011-10-08T10:35:16.692-04:00Congratulations on the success you've experien...Congratulations on the success you've experienced in your work - educating people on homosexuality is a MINISTRY in itself!C.noreply@blogger.com
