Does God Condemn or Love Homosexuals?

This week's posting features an excerpt from DISSENT AT THE ROCK: A Gospel Musical. The playwright Ajamu is someone of whom I had the pleasure of meeting at one of my book signings in New York City, NY.
I think that you will find this quite interesting.

Does God Condemn or Love Homosexuals???

The answer is contingent on who is answering the question. Normally, their answer is based on what they got from their ministerial or personal interpretation of the Bible. What does the “Good Book” really say???

The Bible really doesn’t really say much about homosexuality. Jesus, Himself, said absolutely nothing- about it- which many unenlightened people would find quite remarkable. The subject of homosexuality is not mentioned in the Ten Commandments and there is no prophetic discourse on the subject. Why does the Bible say so little about homosexuality??? Why is this such a controversial subject???

Regarding the Sodom and Gomorrah story. Sodom was destroyed because of the inhospitality of its citizens, idolatry, and injustice. Jesus, Himself, referred to Sodom’s’ inhospitality in the Gospel of Luke the tenth chapter, verses ten through thirteen. He said absolutely nothing about homosexuality when he commented about Sodom.

Amazingly, many don’t realize that prior to the 1946 Revised Standard of the Bible; the word homosexual was never, I repeat NEVER printed in the Bible until then. In addition, NO word for homosexual ever existed in either Greek or Hebrew languages. In fact, the word for homosexual did not come into existence until around the 19th century. When reading, through Genesis, Leviticus, Romans, First Timothy, and other loosely interpreted scriptures it is VERY important to note NONE of these scriptures address same gender romantic love, affection and unions. However, what’s being addressed are certain sinful behaviors associated with both heterosexuality and homosexuality during that time, but NOT in the context of Same Gender love and affection. The so-called homosexuality in Leviticus is biblically condemned as ritually impure. The key to this is that the word abomination does not usually describe something that is intrinsically evil, such as rape or theft; but ritually impure, like eating pork or engaging intercourse during menstruation. The verse is – if a man lies with a man as with a women, both have committed an abomination and they be put to death, but this is not because it is evil; but because the Gentiles do it, and therefore is ritually impure. These were from the Jewish Holiness Codes; under these codes, adultery, incest, round haircuts, tattoos, consulting mediums, dishonoring one’s parents or not keeping the Sabbath holy were all abominations punishable by death. While Christians ignore most of the Holiness Codes, they cite the codes against so-called homosexuality to support their moral position. One is lead to wonder what’s behind the adoption of this probation and casting others away. It’s like those who used the Bible to justify slavery and the repression of women.

I will close by stating that we must learn to worship God and no church leader and no one else, nothing else. I am not suggesting that we throw our Bibles away, but I an encouraging us to take the time to understand the Bible and to embrace it not worship it or read it in a literal sense. In other words, spiritual Christians study beyond the black and white print of the King James Version. The Bible doesn’t take 21st century minds into account-, which is why 14th and 15th century translations cannot be applied to our everyday lives. The Bible is a product of man, not God. The Bible did not fall magically from the clouds. History never had a definitive version of the book. So worship God not the Bible.

Simply put, it does not matter if you’re rich, poor, young, old, male, female, educated, illiterate, black, white, gay, and lesbian or straight, God sees no difference in us as his children.

Remember: God is Love and Love is for Everyone.

Facts of God’s History.

First, God loves every man. No matter what the situation is with that person.

Second, God hates sin - no matter what the sin is.

Third, when God created the earth, although darkness existed, man knew no darkness and thus men knew no sin.

Fourth, man knew sin only when he disobeyed God by eating off of the forbidden fruit tree.

Fifth, Jesus died because of the fall of Adam so God could be reconciled back with men. Thus, God now can have relationship with us because and only because of the Blood of Jesus.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

God condemns all sin; yet he allowed his Son to hide our sins because of the fall of men.

It is not important whether God condemns homosexuals because we are a sinful creature that can only have a relationship with God through the blood of Christ.

Thus, the real question is have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and thus reconciled yourself back to God through Christ’s blood?

If so, then you are in relationship with God and God will direct your path for your life.

I did not choose to be a homosexual. I have asked a million times to have this "thing" taken away from me but God had said that in my weakness, I am strong. So I walked in who I am and I know that God loves me because I am covered by the Blood of Christ.

In conclusion, it is not important if God condemns homosexuals but it is important that whatever God shall condemns at the end that you have a relationship with God. Therefore, when the end of time or your death is established, your soul will be protected by the blood. Your soul can only be protected by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

P.S. – I am a homosexual male and I know that God loves me. I did not ask to be this way and I have asked God since I realized that I was different to remove these feeling from me. However for whatever reason, God has allowed me to keep this thorn in my flesh. So I walk upright in all of my weaknesses because I am made whole through the blood of Christ.

The bible says that God hate all sin and there is no degree of sin. Again, it is not important whether homosexual is a sin or not; but it is important that “all your sin” is forgiven through the blood of Christ.

Whoever wrote the previous comment "Facts of God's History"
You certainly brought it home and it made it clear that it is most important to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior who sacraficed his life for all of our sins. I thank you for that.

You posed an interesting point of... It doesn't matters if God condemns homosexuals or if homosexuality is considered a sin.

I appreciate this posting and the comments. To me the important thing is our relationship with God. That was the only thing the prophets and the true believers had before the bible and our relationship with Him has always been the essence of our salvation. Today, it is that relationship that helps us better understand the bible as it applies to our own lives.

All I can say is Amen, Amen and Amen!

I Like whoze's comment. He said "all that matters is your relationship with God." That is SO TRUE! God Almighty told the Nation of Israel at Leviticus 18:22, that if a man lies with a man, the same way as with a woman. It is an abomination(or disgusting thing) to Him. It's interesting that He said the ACT is a disgusting thing. So, that would mean if a person didn't commit the act they wouldn't be disgusting to Him, in that way. Since God is our creator He told us His commands in ways we can understand. Would you want to spend a day with someone who ate his own diharreha? THAT'S DISGUSTING! The same way with God's view of people who have sex with their own gender. Will He want to spend forever with that kind of person???

Homosexuality is part of a person, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Jesus said at Mark 8:34 that if a person wanted to follow him, they had to disown themselves. and he said at John 4:24 that if we wanted to worship God we had to do it in truth!God didn't send Jesus to the earth to be ignored (John 3:36). We can't continue to deceive ourselves into thinking that Homosexuality is accepted by God. I can't make it any more clearer: If a person wants to be accepted by God (speaking about this subject only), they must not have any kind of sexual relations with their same sex.

Anonymous anonymous,

Thank you for taking out the time to view this site. I realize that after being told all of your life... and the constant programming of the traditional interpretations of the scriptures on the subject of homosexuality has been a total negative and self loathing experience. My burden is to see people like you come outside of that traditional box (mindset) of the interpretations of the scriptures on the subject matter of homosexuality and to understand those scriptures with clarity and illumination with the love of Christ. Staying in that traditional self loathing mind set will always take you back to the traditional Laws of the old covenant before Jesus Christ and the New Covenant. Homosexuality is not sin, sexual abuse is sin.

No one who truly loves themself and has a real relationship with Christ (serving him with their whole heart in spirit and in truth) will abuse themself physically or sexually.

We all have to deny ourselves daily of our sinful nature and seek God for his love and his peace to abide in our hearts.

It is very sad that people actually use the Word of God to make an excuse for their sin and twist God's Word to please their flesh.
Fornication is sin.
If you are unmarried and having sex it is SIN.
God ordained marriage between MALE and FE-MALE- not man/man or woman/woman so that would mean that sex other than as husband and wife is what???
SIN!!!
Research what homosexuality TRULY is.
It goes way deeper than the sexual aspect- which REALLY needs to be taught in the church.
Do a study on Lucifer, his place in heaven, his function in heaven and who he started out to be and ended up to be and you will see why homosexuality is the number one plan used BY the enemy.
It has NOTHING to do with self-loathing, self-hatred, bigotry, homophobia, etc. it has to do with what God has said versus what man is saying. I don't care WHO says what God has the last say.
I cannot nor will I even try to judge anyone but I will say this Don't use your platform to lead people into a false sense of security to satisfy your flesh with spiritual illusions, lies and deceptions.

Whenever I read anything regarding the subject of homosexuality [whether it is right or wrong] I hear the SAME foundational argument however they are very weak arguments that are not even worth the time to debate. It amazes me how those on the pro-homosexual side ALWAYS pick and choose what they want to believe from the Word. You can't pick and choose- you either ALL of the Word or you believe NONE of the Word. You must eat the WHOLE roll. I believe Jesus did speak about homosexuality when he was talking about the eunuch. If you do a COMPLETE study of this subject you will see why Jesus chose eunuch's as the basis for that particular parable.
Did Jesus also speak on marriage?
Where in all that is recorded did Jesus say that fornication is right as long as you are homosexual?
See, this generation wants to have their cake AND eat it too and Jesus said if you are a friend of the world you are an enemy to Me. You can't have the world AND Jesus too. The one blogger that posted the scripture where Jesus said that "you must FIRST DENY YOURSELF, then take up your cross and follow Me", was correct in what they posted. How can you follow Jesus and you will not do as He has commanded?
Paul says when you become saved you are a NEW creation and OLD THINGS are passed away- so that would mean YOUR COMPLETE person changes- MIND, BODY AND SOUL!!!
No matter how you cut it homosexuality is not right in the eyes of God.

Marvelousmarq,

Thank you for your typical religious opinion on homosexuality.

It is people like you who uses traditional religious hype and twisted misinterpreations of the holy scriptures generation after generation in order to convey to people of how that YOU think that you know how GOD feels about his homosexual children. You really don't realize the GREAT DAMAGE that you have inflicted on the the heart and soul of God's homosexual people in the name of religious tradition.

I have already explicitely addressed the concern of calling homosexuality sin; Please thoroughly read the posting on this site entitled: IS THERE REALLY SCRIPTURAL VALIDITY IN CALLING HOMOSEXUALITY SIN? PART 2 and thoroughly read the posting entitled SOULFORCE. I have done a COMPLETE study.

Minus the traditional religious fervor; One can live a clean and holy spirit led life full of peace as homosexual just as much as a heterosexual can; this is my personal experience.

After you have read the above mentioned postings intelligently and without prejudice; you will find that your only dispute will be if you decide to agree with the literal interpretation or the historical interpretation of the particular scriptures in the bible that have been used so divisely against homosexuality.

Yours in Christ,

Samuel
