The Bible Does Not Condemn Marriage Equality for ALL People

By Samuel Marcus Brown

The Holy Bible (King James Version) says in Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in ALL, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. It didn’t say homosexuals will be judged. Sin takes place when a heterosexual or a homosexual takes part in adultery, whoremongering, killing, stealing, lying, anger, idol worship, etc.

I know that the title and the quoting of this scripture will infuriate many in and outside of the traditional religious church world; please open your heart and your mind& continue to read. I quoted that scripture from the King James Version Bible aka KJV because it is historically the most accurate of all other English version bibles. http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Bible/was_the_king_james_revised.htm

The demonization of homosexual & lesbian people has now become the bedrock of today’s Christian Fundamentalist organizations. Unfortunately the traditional African American church & the African American community that I love so very much has become the most common predator to those who have been marginalized and maligned in our society; all in the name of the God that I serve through Jesus Christ. That nagging pattern seems to always repeat itself; the victim becomes the predator in the worse way. Colonial Slavery & The Civil Rights Era was justified by “christians” who misused and abused scripture to uphold their passionate ideology (African slaves & African Americans were the victims then…)

Christian Fundamentalist and their passionate ideology that denounces innate same gender love & attraction has been abusing & misusing the bible outside of it’s scriptural context for many years to uphold their TRADITION: Leviticus 20:13 If a man ALSO lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
& 18:22 KJV seems to address bisexuality of sorts because the definition of ALSO means in addition to.
That was one of the Mosaic/Levitcal Laws given to the Israelites although as Christians who are to believe and accept the New Covenant of Jesus Christ; they seem to cherry pick those 2 verses from among some of the what would be considered barbaric laws for today to demonize a misunderstood population of people in the name of Jesus Christ who has never spoken a mumbling word against homosexual people or same gender love as he proclaimed in Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself. The story of Sodom & Gomorrah in the 19th chapter of Genesis KJV. The evil sin was attempted gang-rape on strangers; the deed was carried out in a similar story in the 19th Chapter of Judges yet Christian Fundamentalist refer to this story completely out of scriptural context to again condemn a misunderstood population of God’s children.
The ultimate demonization of homosexuality are picked from the verses of Romans 1st Chapter; which was an incident about a group of heterosexual people who turned their backs on God and abandoned their sexuality to worship idols gods of sex; so therefore God turned them over to their own lustful ways.
1st Corinthian 6:9 KJV has been defrauded by many other versions of the bible that has changed and added words to identify the "homosexual" who will not enter the kingdom of heaven when the word "effeminate" in Greek actually refers to male prostitutes.
The evil of those scriptural examples does not equal Christ likeness or same gender love. Comparing sexuality to alcoholism and other addictions is sheer ignorance. One chooses to sin not their sexuality.
The word homosexuality was first inserted in a version of a bible in the 1930s or 40s which is fairly recent history in order to uphold anti-homosexuality ideology.

I cannot and will not dispute that the examples of marriage in the bible are between men and women however it is a fact that God and his word does not speak against, condemn or prohibit same gender marriage, monogamy or covenants. USA marriage is a state certificate or a license for governmental spousal legal benefits. There is a very clear example of 2 men in the bible that shared a covenant of love.

Religious traditionalist feels justified in their judgment of condemning homosexuality by quoting from false modern versions of the bible that has changed (inserted & removed) certain words in and from the King James Version of the bible to fit their prejudiced ideology of homosexual & lesbian condemnation.

Keep in mind that the opponents of anything pro-homosexual are very passionate about their ideology; they sincerely feel that it is God who has given them their right to oppose marriage equality and to define same gender love as sin. Within scriptural context, does God really give them that right to assign their personal prejudice and their anti-homosexual theology & ideology to him? Absolutely not.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Psalm 139:14

Anonymous, As I stated in the posting: it is a fact that God and his word does not speak against, condemn or prohibit loving same gender marriages, monogamy or covenants;your personal judgement and your commandment is no more than your anti-gay ideology which is certainly not scriptural.

I’ve always felt that the judgemental bigots would misinterpret & “cherry pick” the Bible verses 2 suit their agenda. This article really summed that up so well. I wish everyone especially the naysayers could read this & digest it.

Thanks 4 sharing, My Brother!!!
Much love,

did not jesus say in john 3 that we must be born again! why does sodomy theology want 2 cleave to the sinful nature that all of humankind was born into. ps 51:5 declares we were shaped in lawlessness and sin
job15:14 states What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

so this means if you were born a sodomite
you are not born again, anew, And jesus said Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. being born again speaks of a nature change, 2Co 5:17 states Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Further more: God does condemn marriage for sodomites; jesus was no dummy he knew the times he lived in and knew the evil in man that tried to jusify his sin. john 2:24,25 john 3:19-21
jesus said while talking to religious pharasees who wanted to justify their sin: But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
Mar 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
Mar 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
Mar 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder

see jesus said what GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER. is not GOD the author of the marital covenant, contract. and if he is the author of the contract then he makes the stipulations. and clearly the stips r man(husband) wife(woman). NOT MAN MAN OR WOMAN WOMAN
the condemnation comes when man i.e (governments or false teachers/preachers) takes what God instituted and rips it apart and says Godand his word does not speak against, condemn or prohibit loving same gender marriages, monogamy or covenants. God warns:Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Pro 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
and we know what will happen to liars rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death

Anonymous,

Yes, Jesus said that we must be born again; that includes everyone. We were all born in sin and must become new creatures and change our sinful ways. Disingenuously trying to make the scripture says something that it doesnt takes away from the essense and the spirit of his word. Accepting and living for the Lord allowing his holy spirit to lead your life does not change your innate sexuality that he created you with; you did not and do not have a choice in that matter however you do have a choice to live for him or to live a sinful life. One chooses to sin not their sexuality. It is your ideology and your religious tradition that calls innately born same gender loving people intrinsically sinful. The Hebrew word, which the KJV translates as "Sodomite", is "Kadesh" translated from Strong's Concordance of the KJV itself translates this word:a quasi sacred person, i.e. a male devotee by prostitution to licentious idolatry; - Sodomite, unclean."
So literally, Kadesh refers to male prostitution in pagan religious rites.
This scriptural definition does not define innately born gay/homosexual/same gender loving people as sodomites; no one is born as a sodomite and your rhetoric concerning sodomy theology is rubbish. You should be so very careful in how you are using scripture out of it's original context demonize a people that God does not condemn.

As I stated before that it is very sad and evil when the religious establishment that call themselves the true Christians; it's awful that they have to use scripture completely out of historical and scriptural context and then alter scripture and specific verses that is now displayed in many of the other versions of the bible to uphold their man-made personal prejudices and customs to destroy a person's soul by telling them that "If you are homosexual you can't be a Christian and that you must change how God designed you...

Apostle Paul and the 3 different types of eunuchs in the bible will let you know that procreation and marriage is not a mandate or a commandment at all.

In 1st & 2nd Samuel; David and Jonathan had the most intimate and loving relationship of any couple in the bible. They had a loving and intimate covenant; just go back and re-read that story. Just because you will refuse to accept what their relationship really was; that would be due to your relgious ideology and your ideology does not make it what you want it to be.

Condemning God's creation that you do not understand and your willful way to find a way to condemn people by not rightfully dividing the word of God on what the bible truly says or don't say about homosexuality is again very dangerous.

Have you ever really thought about how your traditional man made religious ideology concerning people, marriage and sexuality goes against the sovereign God of all creation and the traditional religious establishment continues to try to box God into their small way of thinking and he just laughs at you all.

I stand for TRUTH and want the traditonal religious Christians to wake-up and stop misusing and abusing scripture to condemn people who are homosexual and lesbian by no choice of their own; one chooses to sin but one does not choose their sexuality. Did you choose to be heterosexual? You're hurting people and causing the young to commit suicide and causing others to stray to a world of uninhibited sexual liaisons due to the fact that the church is telling same gender loving people that their sexual orientation is intrinsically evil and they must change;the holy scriptures does not support your traditional rhetoric; heterosexual people are not the only ones who love and live for Jesus.

The Holy Bible (King James Version) says in Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in ALL, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
